How to turn one blog post into a week of social content

12 August 2026 · 5 min read

If you write blog posts, newsletters or long captions, you're sitting on far more social content than you realise. One good long piece can become a week or more of posts across every platform. Here's how to mine it.

Start with the key points

Pull out the main points, tips or takeaways from the piece. Each one is a standalone social post — a single idea, expanded slightly and given a hook. A listicle with seven tips is, quite literally, seven posts.

Reshape for each format

  • A key stat or quote → a graphic or text post.
  • A step-by-step section → a carousel.
  • An explanation → a short talking-head or voiceover video.
  • A surprising point → a hook-led X post or Reel.
  • The whole thing → a 'link in bio, full guide' post driving traffic.

Change the angle, not just the format

To avoid sounding repetitive, vary the angle: frame one post as the problem, another as the solution, another as a myth to bust, another as a question. Same underlying idea, genuinely different posts — which is how the message actually reaches people who saw only one.

Space it out and schedule it

Spread the posts across a week or two rather than dumping them at once, and schedule them ahead. One writing effort now becomes weeks of consistent presence.
