Optimate – Terms of Service

1. Overview of the Service

Optimate provides:

• AI content generation tools
• Social media analytics for connected accounts
• Content planning and optimisation tools
• Post scheduling and publishing to connected social accounts
• Engagement, reach, follower and performance metrics
• Social media OAuth integrations
• Free and paid subscription plans
• The ability to store content, posts, plans, and preferences

Optimate publishes to your connected accounts only when you create, approve or schedule the content. Where you use the Inbox, Optimate reads comments, replies, mentions, reviews and (on Bluesky) direct messages on your connected accounts, and sends only the replies you write or approve. It performs no other action on your accounts without your clear authorisation.

2. Social Media Integrations

Optimate enables you to connect third-party social media accounts for publishing, scheduling, analytics, insights, and optimisation features.

By connecting a third-party account, you authorise Optimate to retrieve the data necessary to provide the Service using official OAuth authorisation flows. Access is limited to the permissions you explicitly grant.

2.1 TikTok

Connecting a TikTok account authorises Optimate to access:

• Basic profile information
• Video lists and analytics
• Account insights
• Engagement metrics

Optimate uses TikTok’s official OAuth process. Where you have granted posting permissions, Optimate publishes content to TikTok only when you initiate or schedule it. We do not access private messages.

2.2 Meta (Instagram & Facebook)

Connecting Instagram or Facebook authorises Optimate to access:

• Profile or Page information
• Page or professional account analytics
• Insights (reach, impressions, engagement, followers)
• Post and media performance data

Optimate uses Facebook Login and the Instagram API with Facebook Login or Instagram Login. Optimate publishes and schedules posts to your Pages and professional accounts only when you initiate or approve them. Where you have granted comment permissions, Optimate shows comments on your Pages and professional accounts in the Inbox and posts the replies you write there. It does not send direct messages.

2.3 LinkedIn

Connecting LinkedIn allows Optimate to access:

• Your name and profile photo
• The primary email address on your LinkedIn account
• Permission to create posts on your behalf

Optimate uses LinkedIn OAuth 2.0. Posts are published to your personal LinkedIn profile, and only when you explicitly initiate or schedule them. Posting to LinkedIn Company Pages is not currently available. Optimate does not read your LinkedIn analytics, comments or messages, and does not comment or send messages on your behalf.

2.4 X (Twitter)

Connecting X (Twitter) through X’s OAuth lets Optimate access your public profile, your posts and their metrics, and replies and mentions of your account. Optimate posts to X only when you create or schedule a post, within your plan’s monthly X allowance. It posts replies from the Inbox only when you send them. It does not send direct messages.

2.5 Bluesky, Threads, Pinterest & Mastodon

Bluesky connects with an app password you create in Bluesky and can revoke there at any time. Optimate publishes the posts you schedule, and shows replies, mentions and direct messages in the Inbox, where you can reply.

Threads connects with Meta’s OAuth. Optimate publishes the posts you schedule and, where you have granted reply permissions, shows replies in the Inbox and posts your answers.

Pinterest connects with Pinterest’s OAuth. Optimate creates the Pins you schedule and reads their performance.

Mastodon connects with the OAuth sign-in of the server your account is on. Optimate publishes the posts you schedule and reads your profile and your own posts’ favourites, boosts and replies. Each Mastodon server sets its own rules, which apply to what you post there.

2.6 YouTube & Google Business Profile

YouTube connects with Google’s OAuth. Optimate reads your channel’s name, picture and subscriber count and its YouTube Analytics (views, likes, comments, shares, watch time and subscriber changes), uploads the videos you publish or schedule with the title, description and settings you choose, and shows comments on your videos in the Inbox. It uploads a video only when you ask it to, and posts a reply only when you send one.

Google Business Profile connects with Google’s OAuth. Optimate reads your locations and your listing’s performance, publishes the updates you create or schedule, and shows your reviews in the Inbox. It posts a review reply only when you send one.

Optimate uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy, and ours in section 6 of our Privacy Policy. You can revoke Optimate’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google security settings.

2.7 AI Assistants Connected Through the Optimate Connector

You can connect Claude, ChatGPT or another app that supports the connector to your Optimate account from Settings → Automations, or from that app’s own directory. Once you approve it, that app can read your connected accounts, posts, analytics, brand profile and media. On a paid plan it can also save drafts, schedule, post, edit or cancel posts and make branded designs on your behalf, using your AI credits. It only publishes when you ask it to. Disconnect it at any time from Settings → Automations; its access ends straight away.

2.8 Permissions & Revocation

All social connections use user-authorised OAuth tokens, limited to the permissions you grant (such as reading analytics or publishing content) and stored securely using Supabase. You may revoke access at any time via:

• The relevant social platform’s app or security settings; and/or
• Optimate’s Settings → Connections

Revoking access may limit certain Optimate features.

3. Account Registration

To use Optimate, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Create an account using Supabase authentication (email/password or OAuth)
• Provide accurate and up-to-date information

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. Optimate is not liable for unauthorised access resulting from your actions or negligence.

4. Subscription & Billing

Optimate offers free and paid subscription plans.

4.1 Billing Provider

Payments made on the website are handled securely by Stripe. The Android app does not sell subscriptions; to subscribe, or to change or cancel a plan, use the website. Subscriptions bought in the iOS app are billed by Apple through in-app purchase, and are managed and cancelled in your Apple account’s subscription settings. Optimate does not store or process card details.

4.2 Renewals

Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

4.3 Cancellations

You may cancel your subscription at any time. You will retain access until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing cycles unless required by law.

4.4 Free Trial

New accounts can use a paid plan free for 14 days, without a card. A trial has its own limits, including a smaller AI credit allowance than the paid plan. When it ends, the account moves to the Free plan and nothing is charged unless you have subscribed. If you subscribe on the website during the trial, your first payment is normally taken when the trial ends. There is one free trial per email address: deleting an account and signing up again with the same address within 12 months does not start a new trial or give new free AI credits.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Optimate for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or fraudulent activities
• Violate the terms or API policies of any connected social platform
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract Optimate systems or data
• Use unauthorised automated scripts or bots
• Harass other users or abuse the Service
• Upload malicious code or harmful content

Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.

6. Data Usage & Privacy

By using Optimate, you consent to the processing of account and profile information, social media analytics data, OAuth access tokens, saved content and posts, and interaction and usage logs for analytics and product improvement.

Users may request deletion of their account and associated data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. AI-Generated Content

Optimate uses AI models to generate content ideas, captions, hooks, hashtags, creative suggestions, analytics insights, forecasts and recommendations.

You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated output before using or publishing it. Optimate is not responsible for inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate AI output, or legal/regulatory/reputational issues arising from its use.

8. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you create or upload to Optimate.

You grant Optimate a limited, non-exclusive licence to:

• Store your content
• Analyse it to provide recommendations
• Display it within your dashboard
• Process and enhance it to power insights and features

We do not claim ownership of your content and do not publish it externally without explicit permission.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You misuse connected social media APIs
• Your payment fails repeatedly
• You engage in abusive, fraudulent, or harmful behaviour

You may delete your account at any time.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Optimate is provided “as is” and “as available”
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We are not liable for loss of data, profits, revenue, or business
• We are not responsible for changes to third-party social platform APIs
• We do not guarantee social growth, earnings, or performance results

11. Platform API Compliance

Optimate is designed to comply with platform developer terms and applicable data protection laws. Any violation of platform terms by a user may result in restricted access or account termination.

12. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update features, pricing, or these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the Service or by email where appropriate. Continued use of Optimate after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter (including non-contractual disputes or claims), are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim. If you are a consumer resident in the UK or the EU, nothing in this clause removes the protection of the mandatory consumer-law rules of the country you live in, or your right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

This clause also supplies the governing law referred to in our Data Processing Agreement.
