Account deletion

Delete your Optimate account

You can request deletion of your Optimate account and associated data at any time, whether you use Optimate on the web, iOS, or Android.

How to delete your account

Sign in to Optimate (web, iOS or Android), go to Account and select Delete my account at the bottom of the page. After you confirm, your account and associated data are deleted immediately.

A subscription paid by card through Optimate is cancelled. One bought in the App Store is billed by Apple — cancel it in your iPhone's subscription settings, because deleting your account can't stop it.

If you can't sign in, you can also email info@optimatesocial.com from the email address on your Optimate account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We'll verify the request and confirm once it's complete — typically within 30 days.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile and account information (name, email, business details), including your contact record on our email lists
  • Generated content, brand settings, and uploaded assets (images, video, documents)
  • Social platform connections and their access tokens (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Google Business and Bluesky)
  • Scheduled posts, content plans, and analytics data pulled into Optimate
  • Device push notification tokens
  • Support messages stored in Optimate that you sent while signed in (the copies emailed to our support inbox are deleted when you ask us)

Deleting specific data without deleting your account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove specific data. Signed in to Optimate, go to Settings → Connections and select Disconnect on any connected social platform (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Google Business or Bluesky) to remove that connection and its stored access tokens immediately, while keeping the rest of your account and other connections intact. Data already pulled in from that platform, such as analytics, is deleted when you delete your account, or sooner if you email us to ask.

YouTube is different: disconnecting it, or swapping it for another channel, also deletes the data pulled in from your channel — its analytics, its audience and profile details, and the comments in your inbox — and withdraws Optimate's access in your Google account, unless something still uses it: the same channel connected elsewhere in Optimate, or any Google Business Profile you have connected. If you revoke Optimate's access from your Google account instead, we delete the same data once the access has stayed revoked for 7 days.

What we retain, and why

Some records must be kept for a period even after account deletion, where required by law or legitimate business need — for example, billing and transaction records for tax and accounting purposes (retained per applicable financial record-keeping requirements), and records needed to resolve any open disputes or enforce our agreements. Everything else is deleted or anonymised.

Images, video and logos you added to another Optimate workspace's posts or brand kits while working on its team stay with that workspace while it still uses them. If you are an Optimate partner, commission records are kept as billing records, but commission not yet paid out to you is not paid once your account is deleted, so wait for your payout first.
