How to schedule TikTok posts
4 November 2026 · 4 min read
TikTok rewards posting often, and it is the platform where a busy week most easily means nothing goes up at all. Scheduling lets you film in one batch and post through the week. There are two ways to do it.
1. On TikTok's website
TikTok lets you schedule a video a few days ahead when you upload it from a computer rather than the phone app. It is free, and fine if TikTok is the only platform you post to and a few days ahead is far enough.
2. With a scheduler
A scheduler earns its place when TikTok is one of several networks, when you want a month planned at once, or when you want the numbers in one report. The tools that post through TikTok's official API publish the video for you at the time you pick. Our guide to the best TikTok scheduling tools compares them on that and on price.
What to do in the app instead
Sounds from TikTok's own library can only be added in the TikTok app, so a video built around a trending sound is better posted there. A video with its own audio, a voiceover or a song you have the rights to schedules perfectly well.
Get the video right before it is queued
- Vertical 9:16 fills the screen. Anything else gets bars.
- The first second decides whether people keep watching, so open on the interesting bit.
- Write the caption for search as well as for viewers: say what the video shows.
- A caption holds 2,200 characters. Check a draft with our free character counter.
