Social media bio checker

Paste what is on your profiles and get a scored audit of each one — length against the real limit, whether it says what you actually do, whether there is a link and a reason to click it, and whether your handle matches across platforms. No signup, no email, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

1. About your brand

Optional, but it unlocks the keyword, name and link-consistency checks.

Comma separated. We check whether your bios actually say any of it.

2. Pick your platforms

Add a second and we check the links agree. Add a third and we can also flag a handle that doesn’t match the others.

3. Paste what’s on them

Instagram

0 / 150 characters

Is a profile picture set? We can’t see it, so this one is your answer. Skip it and we leave it out of the score.

Bio character limits, by platform

These are the published maximums the checker scores against. They are also why one bio pasted everywhere does not work: 80 characters on TikTok against 2,000 on LinkedIn is not a formatting difference, it is a different piece of writing.

What the checker looks at

The bio itself

Empty, over the limit, or so short it wastes the space — the three states that cost you the most and take the least effort to fix.

Whether it says what you do

Tell us your business in a few words and we check your bios actually contain any of it. Most do not; they describe a mood.

A reason to act

A bio that describes you but never asks for anything is a leaflet. We look for a call to action.

The link

Whether one is set at all — usually the single biggest fix on a profile — and whether it points where your other profiles point.

Handle consistency

Add three or more platforms and we flag the odd one out. Being @brand in three places and @brand_uk in the fourth costs you the search. Under three there is no majority to compare against, so we say nothing rather than guess which one is wrong.

Display name

Whether the name on the profile matches the business name people are searching for.

Questions

Is it really free, and do I need an account?
Yes and no — it is free and there is no account, no email and no trial. The tool runs in your browser, so it costs us nothing to give away.
Does my bio get sent anywhere?
No. The scoring code runs on your own device. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored or logged, which matters because the natural thing to paste into a bio checker is a draft you have not published yet.
How is the score worked out?
Each profile is checked for a filled-in bio, sensible length against that platform's limit, whether it mentions what you actually do, whether it has a call to action, whether a link is set, and whether your handle, display name and link agree across the platforms you add. Checks are weighted, and anything we cannot see is left out of the score rather than counted as a failure.
Why does it ask me whether a profile picture is set?
Because we cannot see it. Nothing is fetched from the platforms, so that one answer is yours rather than ours, and the page says so next to the question.
Which platforms does it cover?
Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook Pages, Threads, Pinterest, YouTube, Bluesky and Google Business — each with its own real character limit and its own name for the field.
What is the difference between this and Optimate's Profile Health?
Same scoring engine, different input. This one scores what you paste. Profile Health connects your accounts, reads the live profiles, tracks the score as you fix things, and writes replacement copy for you.

Fixing it is the slow part

Optimate connects your accounts, runs this same audit against the live profiles, and writes the replacement bio, name and link for each one — then keeps posting to them.
